Suresign has major advantages over other rapid lateral flow tests
It's a Saliva test (not a nasopharyngeal or sputum – which are harder to apply and can give false negatives due to poor technique).
Easy Administration: As it is a saliva test it makes it very easy to administer for all but especially for young children and older adults.
No special equipment or people needed: Point of care result in 15 minutes and can be administered by people themselves in the presence of a trained health care worker – first aider/pharmacist, HCA, etc
Highly accurate: 98.9% accurate ( Public health England showed 134 of the first-generation tests had an accuracy of less than 70%)
Good for asymptomatic people: One of the only tests that has conducted dilutions studies that shows that it picks up very small viral loads seen in asymptomatic people. It is sensitive to 100 picograms /ml
UK product: Developed in Oxford by a UK company with long pedigree in testing products
Cost effective: Costs comparable with other tests but with reduced costs for PPE, equipment, nurses etc
